PCT day 136 – Zero miles

I didn't go to sleep last night until 1am. For someone used to going to sleep at around 9pm that's pretty late! It's always the same when you get into towns and you become connected to the outside world again. I spend hours consuming pointless content from the worlds of Facebook and Instagram and the Internet, only to find out that I haven't really missed anything after all.

I woke up at around 6am feeling hungry so I finished off the Pringles and ate all the ice cream and went back to sleep.

I checked out of the hotel at 11am and went to sit by the Aardvark food truck. I chatted with Kmart, Mr White, Snipe and Face for a while and I ordered another Hurry Curry because the one I had yesterday was so so good.

I was waiting for Glendee, a lady who contacted me to offer a place to stay after following my blog. I had a great experience with Kristen and her family so I've decided to take a chance on a stranger again! She picked me up around 1pm and we went back to her house which was absolutely beautiful.

We chatted for a while and I spent some time updating the blog outside in the sun. We had delicious tacos for dinner and I met Doug, Glendees husband. They are such nice people, treating me basically like they would their own daughter. I needed the day off today. The rest has done me good. I may take tomorrow off completely as well. I have loads of time and I want to see if the predicted rains will help the fire situations.

I have a beautiful room and I fell asleep in a huge comfortable squashy bed.

I get amused by the power sockets in America because they look like a shocked face 😦 ...
