PCT day 76 – A proper zero

So, having walked 2.5 miles shy of 1200 trail miles, and more miles in between, I don't feel like I have taken a proper rest day yet. Days in towns are always spent shopping, going to the post office, doing laundry, going out to find things to eat, eating, updating the blog etc. By the time I've finished all this I don't feel like I've rested at all.

So we decided to take a day off. A proper day off. Doing nothing. Although Cool Breeze has had a proper rest already it's nice for him to be able to spend some more time with his family.

Mumma Cool Breeze went out early and bought fresh filled croissants and bagels from the bakery - you wouldn't get that if you took a day off in town! And then we just hung out. All day. In the shade. When it reached 100 degrees we sat in the air conditioned RV and had some lunch!

I didn't walk anywhere. I didn't move from the perimeter of the RV. Apart from when I had to walk from the RV to the car, and from the car to the restaurant for a delicious meal in the village, and back again. But it was worth it. My phone registered that I had walked 0.4 miles.

It was the perfect rest day. Unfortunately we can't stay here forever.

We have to hike out tomorrow...
